#ProjectMiBarrio is a personal photobook about a neighborhood I lived in near Quito, Ecuador, with my partner, Karla. It is a story about change. When we lived there, a superhighway was built straight through our neighborhood, connecting Quito with a new international airport. The area was developing quickly, and the small towns were transforming into cities and suburbs. I began documenting daily-life in my neighborhood with my phone, to capture a way of life that was on the brink of change. At the same time, our life was shifting, as Karla gave birth to our first son, and we began the journey into parenthood.
